Founded by Kevin Royce, ECO Building Resource was created to solve a problem he saw firsthand: people want healthier and more sustainable materials, but finding them shouldn’t be difficult. After more than 25 years in the building materials industry — primarily focused on interior finishes — Kevin noticed a growing demand for LEED-compliant and eco-friendly products. Yet even experienced builders and contractors struggled to locate materials that were both safe for people and gentle on the planet.
This challenge sparked a mission. Kevin began researching, sourcing, and reviewing products through a simple lens: Are they safer? Are they healthier? Are they better for the environment?
Outside of work, Kevin is a husband and father of two teenage boys, deeply involved in sports and outdoor activities. While coaching minor hockey, he noticed several young players struggling with asthma and allergy issues — many linked to the toxins and pollutants we encounter in everyday indoor environments. That realization reinforced an important truth: the spaces we build directly impact our health.
From that moment, the vision became clear. And ECO Building Resource was born.
